Young Designers Scholarship
The Young Designers Scholarship Fund is committed to advancing the education of exemplary Design and Architecture Senior High (DASH) students by offering annual design competitions and pre-college experiences at School of Visual Arts (SVA) and Parsons in New York City.
Pre-College Study Programs at the School of Visual Arts and Parsons
Annually, DASH students are selected by faculty on merit to attend pre-college programs in New York at SVA and Parsons. These experiences build confidence in students to pursue higher learning through access to world class facilities and cultural experiences throughout New York City. All accommodations for travel and housing are provided in addition to full tuition, luggage, linens, and a daily stipend.
Architecture and Industrial Design Competition
Annually, graduating Seniors from DASH’s Architecture and Industrial Design track compete for scholarship awards. Final presentations respond to unique sustainability and design challenges. Participants receive professional mentorship, as well as monetary awards towards.
Funded with generous support from The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and through donations, the YDSF provides merit and needs based scholarships to outstanding DASH students.
Every year, new students are selected to participate. Annually, students selected by their teachers on the basis of merit receive full scholarships to attend pre-college programs in New York at the School of Visual Arts and Parsons the New School of Design. Students build confidence and receive college credit during their New York experience. Provided are luggage, linens, and a daily stipend. All students receive monetary aid for higher education expenses and professional mentorship, which is covered by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and through donations.
