Sonesta Community Fund
The Sonesta has supported local charitable organizations on Key Biscayne for over 20 years. Since the Community Foundation was founded, the Sonesta has held a donor advised fund to continue to reach our charitable objectives. Our goals in the local community are to encourage youth through educational programs. These educational programs include the arts, music programs, youth sports, drug awareness, etc.
With our support of youth educational programs, the Sonesta Fund hopes to inspire and educate children on the island to become well-rounded adults. We are proud to have granted to the KBCS’s PTA, the Harvest Festival, the Purple Hand anti-bullying program, City Theatre, the Eileen McCaughan Memorial Scholarship, as well as many other worthy nonprofits.
In the greater community, the Sonesta Foundation (donor advised fund) is dedicated to aiding low-income families throughout Miami-Dade County. We accomplish this by supporting organizations that provide low-income housing and transitional housing as well as by supporting homeless shelters.
We also support organizations that help the formerly homeless to find permanent housing as well as provide supportive services so that these individuals and families can become self-sufficient.
