The Miami Strong Disaster Resilience Network is a collective of grassroots organizations in Miami-Dade County that spring into action in a time of need. This network is a hub of information and resources for the community leaders that are the first on the ground in their neighborhoods. Miami is uniquely at risk for natural disasters. Research shows the County faces damage from a direct hurricane or tropical storm every 6.7 years. With each storm, Miami-Dade’s grassroots-based organizations play a critical role in helping communities prepare and recover.
Throughout disaster seasons, the Miami Strong Disaster Resilience Network site will be continuously updated with the latest resources to help communities prepare for and quickly recover from disasters.
The Network is made possible by the Miami Disaster Resilience Fund, a collaborative of philanthropic, public and private partners led by The Miami Foundation and Resilient305, with significant investments from Kenneth C. Griffin and Daniel Lewis, as well as support from the Key Biscayne Community Foundation, Coral Gables Community Foundation, Greater Miami Jewish Federation, and others.
