It can be difficult to keep kids busy during the holidays, especially when they are out of school for winter break. If you’re looking for a way to keep your kids active, consider signing them up for the winter day camp at the Key Biscayne Community Center.
Winter Day Camps
There are various full-day programs of activities at the community center. These are available from Dec. 21 through Dec. 23, when the kids are off from school. Camp will also be available from Dec. 28 through 30.
Plenty of activities are available for the kids, and they are in a safe environment while they play. Kids will be able to play in the computer lab, get involved with arts and crafts, play games, engage in sports, go swimming and even go on field trips. What more could a kid ask for during winter break? The only thing that’s not provided is lunch, but this is something that you can easily pack with them when you drop them off.
The camp accepts kids from kindergarten through eighth grade. You can register your children in advance by calling 305-365-8900. The community center’s front desk personnel will take care of everything. Member fees are just $35 per day, with non-members paying $42 per day. Advanced registration will ensure that there is enough staff to provide sufficient child supervision.
Why Send Kids to Camp?
Kids are going to grow restless unless they are given something to occupy their time. You may still be at work, so what are they going to do? The winter day camps will keep them occupied from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m., and late care is available all the way until 6 p.m.
Kids can spend time with others who are in their age group, giving them a chance to make new friends and have some fun. In the spirit of the holidays, fun should be at the top of the list of things to do. If you don’t know how to deliver, then the community center can.
The Key Biscayne Community Foundation is dedicated to making a positive difference throughout the community. This is done with community leadership, new and innovating programming, as well as grants, all made possible by generous funding to our community.
With the winter day camps that are offered by the community center, Key Biscayne can have happier kids around. This is of the utmost importance, and can provide you with greater peace of mind knowing that your children are in good hands while you are working or finishing some last minute holiday shopping.
